Military Force to Protect the US status Posted on April 19th, 2011 by

I do believe that the United States is becoming more militarized.  My reasoning can be supported by the term Military Metaphysics.  This, as Bacevich has described it, is the idea that because we have solved many problems in the past with military action, we will continue this trend and use military action in many problems that we will face in the future.   In many cases, military force is the only way in which we can protect ourselves while trying to get what we want, therefore, I do not think that military action will be replaced or reduced in the future.

I also believe that we are becoming more militarized, due to the fact that we need to protect our status and power.  I attended the Dinesh D’Souza lecture, and he stated that we need to work hard to keep our status, because in the past, those who have fallen from higher power to lower power have never been able to regain the powerful position they once had.  If we are not number one, another nation will be, and we will never regain that power.  The US may be becoming more militarized to protect the status that D’Souza is referring to.
